President and CEO Mike Forgione started selling used bicycles out of his garage as a hobby in 2002, to pay for an expensive set of wheels he wanted. After years of helping others, and success in this hobby, Mike is happy to bring you world class service, products and integrity. Mike is an accomplished cyclist, triathlete, and adventure seeker. Mike was always in shape until his late 20’s, when he gained 60 pounds. One day, after watching his friends come home after a mountain bike adventure, smiling, bloody and fit, he realized what he was missing and humbly asked if he could have what they had.

Many years later, Mike has volunteered with many organizations and has given clinics on nutrition, bicycle fit, climbing, time trialing, back packing, and swimming. Mike has been active in the Special Olympics, the local soup kitchen, and donates time to the local triathlon club to get new people started in a new healthy direction. Mike also donates time to Through the Storm Gospel Ensemble, singing and donating the proceeds to charities supporting a cure for HIV/AIDS and disaster relief organizations. Mike enjoys playing the guitar, singing and studying classical music and 4-part harmony, photography, and lives with his two children.

I decided to become a part of World Champion Trading Company, Inc. due to the passion of its founder and president, Michael W. Forgione. Mr. Forgione's passion for adventure sport is contagious and while an accomplished athlete in his own right, Mike’s compassion and zeal to introduce beginners to adventure sports is what sets him apart. Mike's enjoyment of adventurous experiences stems from camaraderie, appreciation for beautiful natural surroundings, and accomplishment of personal goals (no matter how big or small). Mike is just as excited to see a 55-year-old beginner complete her first 20 mile road ride as he is placing in a Triathlon, finishing a century in less than 5 hours, or coaching a team of accomplished triathletes.

Two years ago I was involved in a motorcycle accident that left me with all of my arms and legs broken. After multiple surgeries and a long recovery I attained a renewed appreciation for physical fitness and for overcoming physical and mental barriers. I enjoy being part of a company that while having large market share and financial goals also considers part of its mission to introduce new members to the local adventure sports community that has supported us for many years.

The employees of World Champion Trading Company have a diverse background but we all value the absolute necessity of great customer service, integrity in all of our transactions, and professional representation of all the products we carry as if they were proprietary. We understand that each manufacturer has a tailored approach to the way it would like its products represented/distributed and appreciate the importance of doing so for both the manufacturer and our own business. Matt is a San Diego native. He lives with his wife of 18 years, and his 16 year old son. Matt brings over 17 years of caring, healing encouragement and technical experience to help you achieve your goals.
